Martin Walker

Walker smallMartin worked as a journalist for The Guardian newspaper for 25 years. He has written a number of prize-winning non-fiction books including The Waking Giant: Gorbachev and Perestroika, which was translated into 11 languages. He is currently writing a series of crime novels set in rural France, the first of which is entitled Death in the Dordogne. The first twelve books in the series have been bought by Quercus in the UK and Knopf in the US, and Diogenes in Germany has acquired the first sixteen. The Bruno books have become best-sellers in Germany, selling overĀ 2 million copies to date. Film & TV rights in Bruno, Chief of Police have been optioned to Memento Film Gmbh.
