Christopher Vick

Chris is the author of KOOK, currently longlisted for the Branford Boase Award. Called a ‘no holds barred love story’ and ‘darkly dramatic‘ by The Guardian in their June 2016 roundup of best new children’s books, it was also their May 2016 book of the month: ‘a gripping and heartbreaking story of love and obsession’. Kook is published by HarperCollins in the UK, HarperCollins360 in the US, Giunti in Italy and Gottmer Becht in the Netherlands.

His second book, STORMS, also published by HarperCollins, publishes in April 2017. He is now working on his next book BOY, GIRL, SEA, about an English boy and a Libyan girl, stranded in a boat, on the ocean.

Chris has appeared at festivals including Hay and the Bath Children’s Lit festival, and has written blogs/features for the Guardian and on YA issues. He does school visits and writing workshops. He lives near Bath, with his wife and daughter, but spends a lot of time in, or on, the water.
