Elleke is Professor of World Literature in English, University of Oxford and Professorial Governing Body Fellow at Wolfson College. She is the author of four novels and the editor of the centenary edition of Baden Powell’s Scouting for Boys (OUP 2004). Her most recent novel Nile Baby was published in 2008 by Ayebia. Her other novels, including the David Higham short-listed Screens against the Sky, are soon to appear in e-book format (White Glove Press). Her short biography on Mandela with Oxford University Press has been widely translated and in 2015 published a ‘novel from life’, The Shouting in the Dark. Elleke was a Man Booker International judge for 2015.
