summersnewwebJulie is the author of the successful biography of Sandy Irvine, Fearless on Everest ( Weidenfeld). The Colonel: Philip Toosey and the Bridge on the River Kwai (Simon and Schuster 2005). Stranger in the House was published in September 2008 by Simon  and Schuster. When the Children Came Home attracted 5 star reviews. Her new book is Jambusters, a history of the Women’s Institute in WW2. Julie is currently working on a book, in conjunction with the Imperial War Museum for their major exhibition for 2015 entitled Fashion on the Ration.
