Edmund-De-WaalThis famous potter’s The Hare with Amber Eyes has been a literary sensation and international bestseller in the UK, Germany, USA, Israel and Italy and sold in 29 languages, the latest being to Sprotin, the Agency’s first Faroese deal. It is the biography of a collection of Japanese netsuke and of a family, the Jewish Ephrussi family. Film has been optioned by Allon Reich at DNA Films. It won the Costa Biography Award and the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize and was short-listed for many others. Edmund was apprenticed to the potter Geoffrey Whiting whilst still at school. After reading English at Cambridge, he spent a year studying at the Mejiro Ceramics Studio in Tokyo. He is now one of the world’s leading artists working in ceramics and has created ceramic interventions at Waddesdon Manor, Chatsworth, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Britain, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge and MIMA. Chatto, FSG, Zsolnay and Bollati have commissioned The White Book – A Journey Through Porcelain.
