Hugh Wilford

This young historian at UC Santa Barbara wrote The Mighty Wurlitzer: The CIA and Cold War America on the origins of the CIA and how it set up its wide network of connections with cultural organizations and how by the early 60s the whole enterprise fell into disgrace. It has received wonderful reviews in the US and UK (Harvard). He is now publishing America’s Great Game – The CIA in the Middle East 1947 – 1967 with Basic Books US and UK in autumn 2013.
