We take submissions very seriously and this has resulted in some notable successes. We receive thousands of submissions a year and make a point of reading every one.
We are particularly interested in exciting commercial and literary fiction, children’s fiction for 8+ Young Adult and non-fiction for the adult market. Do look at the authors on our website to get a clear idea of the kind of books we represent.

We do not accept science fiction, horror, adult fantasy, light romance, self help, gardening, film and TV scripts, plays or poetry. We also don’t accept picture/illustrated books for children or adults.

Whether submitting by email or post, we require the following:
For adult and children’s fiction: a covering letter, a synopsis and the first 3 or 4 chapters, double or 1.5 spaced with the pages numbered.
For adult nonfiction: a covering letter explaining why you are the best person to write the proposed book, an outline of 3-4 pages setting out clearly why the book is both important and original, what research or experience you are basing it on, how it compares with other books on the same subject and finally what you would cover in it.
Make sure you tell us your email address for a reply and include a SAE if you want hard copy returned.
Please send images in a separate file to the text.

Please ensure sufficient postage is put on your submission. We regularly get notified by the Post Office asking us to pay a surcharge and we do not collect these letters.
There is no need to send material by special delivery.
Please address your submission to: ‘SUBMISSIONS’, Felicity Bryan Associates, 2A North Parade Avenue, Banbury Road, Oxford, OX2 6LX

We employ readers who specialise in all the key areas of our business. Please bear in mind that we receive large numbers of submissions and we make every effort to reply within 10 weeks. We will only reply if you have enclosed a stamped addressed envelope or provided an email address. Because of the volume of manuscripts that we deal with, all paperwork is destroyed after 10 weeks. You should keep a copy of any material that you send to us. We do take every care over your work but we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
We are unable to give any feedback on your manuscript. If you are looking for advice there are literary consultants who, for a fee, will give you a detailed analysis.
Please remember that rejection by us does not mean your work is not publishable- perseverance is the key!
